OC Board of Supervisors District 2 covers the heart of central Orange County — including Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Westminster, Stanton, and portions of Anaheim and Fountain Valley. It is the most diverse and Latino-majority supervisorial district in Orange County.
Vicente Sarmiento was elected to District 2 in 2022, becoming the first Latino ever elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors. He previously served as Mayor and City Councilmember in Santa Ana. He is running for a second term in 2026.
Sarmiento faces three challengers: Nelida Mendoza (FPPC 1487440, committee filed on OC NetFile), James Wallace, and Kimberly Davis. Wallace and Davis have no campaign committee on file with OC NetFile as of May 2026.
The Board of Supervisors oversees a $9 billion+ annual budget, sets county land-use and social services policy, and approves major contracts. District 2's communities are among the most affected by housing, public health, and infrastructure decisions made at the county level.
